Arrietty told the boy that borrowing is more difficult and dangerous. Her father has alot of skill and courage to borrow.Arrietty thinks that stealing is calling it yours.Arrietty thinks she's a part of the house so that makes it o.k..I think that they are stealing because they never say they will give it back and they just take it.They never ask the humans for permission to take things. But they don't call it their's , they take it and use it any way they want to.Your Friend, Lauren Scutella
Lauren, You made a great observation that Arrietty and her family feel that they are part of the household! Even further, they believe that humans exist just to "keep" the borrowers. Their perspective is definitely a lot different than what the humans think.
I am Pennsylvania certified in elementary and special education. I received my Masters degree in Special Education from Mercyhurst College located in Erie, PA.
I am a partner (and mother!) in OneL Publishing with Michele Boutwell. Our belief is that ALL kids can read if presented with effective instruction. LOGIC, written by Michele Boutwell, is our program that has been proven to be THAT instruction.
