Chapter 9 Discussion

After Arrietty and the Boy talked, Arrietty says,"Oh, don't be silly...Surely you don't think there are many people in the world your size?" and the Boy says, "There are more my size than yours." (pg 78) Why do you think that they disagree about this?

  1. I THINK THAT becase Arrietty is smaller, the boy doesn't think that there are a lot of small people in the world, because he has ONLY seen their family and no one else. Arrietty doesn't get out much and she doesn't know how many people there are in the world, so she thinks that there are more borrowers.

  2. Arrietty has only been around small people like herself. The boy is the first human Arrietty has seen. Arrietty does not no a lot about the humans. So the boy feels the same why that Arrietty feels.Your Friend Lauren Scutella
